Microsoft Product Questions
* How can we use classic DOC and XLS files with recent
Microsoft software that prompts for DOCx and XLSx files?
Microsoft wants to "protect" customers from using
any older versions of Excel, or competing products such as Open Office Calc.

The .XLSx and .DOCx file extensions were created
to extend Microsoft's monopoly. "Protected View" protects MSFT profit. Good
old XLS and DOC files are fine for almost all users.

Here are the settings to turn this nonsense off.
